Week 21: January 19-23

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As we embark on another exciting week of learning and growth, I’d like to remind families that Heritage Flex Academy and all AHCS campuses will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s lasting impact on civil rights and equality. I hope your family enjoys the three-day weekend and some well-deserved rest.

Returning student registration for the 2026–2027 school year has begun. You should have received an email last week with the link to the re-enrollment forms. Please submit these forms no later than Thursday, February 5 to secure your student’s seat at HFA for next year.

If your family is considering a transfer to Heritage Junior High School or Heritage Elementary School, please note that you must enter the AHCS lottery, which closes on February 6. Re-enrollment alone does not transfer a student between campuses.

If you have any questions about re-enrollment, learning paths, or program changes, please reach out to:

  • Sarah Sinohui at ssinohui@amhcs.org
  • Leanne Megna at lmegna@amhcs.org (high school inquiries)

Thank you for your continued partnership as we plan for another exciting year ahead.

Warm regards,

Sandi Knapp, Principal

They learned about the different programs offered, toured both campuses, and connected with fellow 8th graders from HFA and HJH through fun conversations and games. It was an exciting experience and a great sneak peek at what next year will look like as students at Escondido Charter High School.

COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES

Gaga Ball Fun on Campus: A group of HFA parents is organizing a parent-led donation to purchase an inflatable gaga ball pit for student use on campus. The school is not coordinating the fundraising or purchase. This inflatable option is easy to set up, can be stored when not in use, and only takes a few minutes to inflate. The total cost for the pit, a storage bin, and new gaga balls is $250. Families who are interested in contributing may contact Melissa Guiliano directly at 605-359-0378 for more information. We are grateful for the initiative of our parent community and their continued partnership in supporting joyful student experiences.
