Our students helped mark a special milestone at AHCS’s 30th anniversary event last week! Our first graders sang “My Country, ’Tis of Thee,” and seventh grader Clara O. recited Act III, Scene 2 from Julius Caesar. We are so proud of how they represented our school as we celebrated 30 years of education in North County.
Thank you, parents, for taking time to attend parent-teacher conferences. These conversations help us better understand and support your children, and we appreciate your partnership. Monday, October 26, is our final designated conference day.
Congratulations to our October Virtue Award winners for demonstrating adaptability! Learning to adjust when plans change, try a different approach, and respond with a willing spirit takes practice, and we’re glad to recognize our students’ growth.
Looking ahead, we hope our TK families will join the HFA Kindergarten Campus Tour on November 2. This tour welcomes prospective families and offers an opportunity to explore kindergarten as you consider your options for the 2027–2028 school year.

Lotteries for the 2027-2028 school year will open on October 13, 2026 for all programs. Applications are not required for currently enrolled students, but new siblings must submit a lottery application.

MEAL SERVICE PROGRAM AT HERITAGE FLEX ACADEMY
Heritage Flex Academy offers free breakfast and free lunch for all students. There is no need to sign up in advance.
Please remember the meals are subject to change. Updates will be posted on the monthly menu as soon as they become available. Breakfast Reminder Breakfast is served from 8:00–8:15 am. No breakfasts will be served after the warning bell.
Parent Communication & Student Participation Please talk with your child each morning about whether they plan to participate in breakfast and/or lunch that day. This helps our team prepare accurate meal counts and ensures your child knows your expectations.
Allergies & Dietary Restrictions If your child has any food allergies or dietary needs, please ensure we have a doctor-signed Medical Statement Form
on file. Families may also submit a Fluid Milk Substitution Form
(parent-signed) if they prefer lactose-free, soy, or oat milk.

JR HIGH FALL DANCE:
Students from HJHS and HFA will have the opportunity to show off their dance moves on Friday, November 13, for the annual fall junior high dance. This year's theme is masquerade! Masquerade masks will be provided for students at the dance. Students will not be permitted to bring or wear masks from home. We encourage students to dress their best for this special occasion, but please review the dress and behavior codes
in advance. Questions should be directed to the front office at 760-297-5599.

Refunds will not be issued.
JR. HIGH CHORUS:Calling all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade singers! Heritage Flex Academy students are invited to join the HJHS Chorus, led by Music Teacher Mr. Brendan Beck. Rehearsals begin November 10 and will be held Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:10–3:50 p.m. in Room 8 at Heritage Junior High School. Scan the QR code on the flyer below to sign up.

As ReFLEXion parent conferences wrap up this week, we want to remind you that your academic advisor is always available for support and guidance. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything that we can help you with.
Also, remember that now is a great time (it’s never too late) to build family routines and traditions that last a lifetime. Game time together, dinnertime at the table, and slow-down time at the end of the day. Just to be present with each other and to talk about what your family values.

📚 Conference Update We just wrapped up our October conferences. It’s so encouraging to see how thoughtfully students have organized their studies, dedicating quality time to each subject area, and making strong progress through their various curriculum programs. So happy to see all the hard work and growth!
🎃 Bates Meet-Up Success! Our Bates Nut Farm Meet-Up this past week was a huge success and so much fun - even with the unexpected downpour! FHL and HFA Blue Path students and families came together for a wonderful day filled with fall festivities, hands-on activities, learning, and fellowship. It was such a joy to see an amazing turnout and so many smiling faces enjoying the day together, rain and all! What a memorable fall gathering!
