    WOODEN WINS VIRTUES PROGRAM

    OCTOBER

    INITIATIVE

I take initiative.  I do the right thing without being told.  I am willing to work hard and take personal responsibility.  I am courageous and learn from my mistakes.

“We must not be afraid to act. If we are afraid to do something for fear of making a mistake, we will not do anything at all.  That is the worst mistake of all.  You learn through adversity.  We get stronger through adversity.” -Coach John Wooden

    Academic Advisors Connection

As you explore history, science, math, and literature along your homeschool journey, remember to keep these key questions in mind as you guide your children in discussion and discovery.

Questions of Inquiry Questions of Critical Thinking
    1. What do you notice? 1. What do you think?
    2. What does it remind you of? 2. Why do you think it?
    3. What do you wonder? 3. How do you know it?

After any of these questions are asked, remember to leave time for your student to process and develop the thoughts and words that lead into your discussion.
